Our routes are available online in digital form.
- After payment, the buyer receives a download link via email.
- A package of files (PDF, KML, and GPX), compressed into a single RAR file using WinRar, is downloaded.
- This needs to be extracted (unzipped). Windows 11 on PC has built-in tools for this. On other systems, a dedicated application may need to be installed, of which there are many free ones available for Windows, Android, and iOS.
- After extracting, you'll get one PDF file and one or more KML and GPX files.
- We recommend printing the PDF file. It is a description of the route. It’s worth reading it before the trip to prepare and then refer to it during the ride.
- The KML and GPX files are intended for GPS navigation.
- The GPX files are dedicated to GARMIN devices and need to be transferred to such a device.
- KML files can be used in many applications on phones or tablets. We highly recommend a simple and free application called MAPS.ME. It works on both Android and iOS operating systems and can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.
See how to use KML files in the MAPS.ME app:
- Start by installing the MAPS.ME app on the phone or tablet you plan to use for navigation. Ensure you can receive emails on this device. Check that MAPS.ME opens and works correctly, then close it.
If the route was purchased on a PC and the RAR file was downloaded and extracted there:
- Send the KML files as email attachments from the PC to the email account you access on your phone or tablet.
- On your phone or tablet, open the email with the KML attachments.
- Click the KML attachments one by one. On Android, the KML file will automatically open in the MAPS.ME app. On iOS, a white screen with HTML code will appear, and you need to click the "share" icon at the bottom of the screen and select MAPS.ME from the available apps.
If the route was purchased on a phone or tablet and the RAR file was downloaded and extracted there:
- Using any file management application on the device, locate the KML files and click on them one by one. On Android, the KML file will automatically open in the MAPS.ME app. On iOS, a white screen with HTML code will appear, and you need to click the "share" icon at the bottom of the screen and select MAPS.ME from the available apps.
- If the above doesn’t work, we recommend using a different file management app.
When opening KML files in the MAPS.ME app, maps of the areas covered by the route will be automatically downloaded.
Properly opened KML or GPX files appear on the GPS navigation device's screen as a red or blue line on the map background. All points described in the PDF file are also displayed as numbered markers (to see the number, click on the marker).
Navigating the route involves following these lines through the marked points in the order of their increasing numbers.
